4. Online Bookings and Services

Booking Platform:

If you use the online booking feature, you acknowledge that this service is provided through Squarespace or an integrated third-party scheduling application (e.g., Jane App). While we take reasonable steps to ensure the security of these platforms, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the Internet.

Cancellation Policy:

All sessions are scheduled through our secure online booking platform. Appointment lengths vary based on your request but are typically 30 or 50 minutes in duration.

If you arrive late to your appointment, please note that the missed time will be deducted from your session length. Your provider may not be able to extend your session if another client is scheduled afterward. In such cases, the full fee for your original appointment will still apply.

Occasionally, your provider may be running behind. If this happens, we will make every effort to provide your full scheduled session. If that’s not possible, you will only be billed for the actual time spent in session.

Late Cancellations & No-Shows:

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, no-shows will be billed at the full session rate. Unfortunately, insurance providers do not cover late cancellations or missed appointments, so this cost is the responsibility of the client.

Fees & Insurance:

Social Work services are not covered by OHIP, but many extended health benefits plans (e.g., Manulife, Sun Life) offer full or partial reimbursement. Since coverage varies, please confirm your benefits and claim procedures directly with your insurance provider.

Payment is due at the end of each session. A receipt will be issued upon payment, which you can use for insurance reimbursement or income tax purposes if eligible.

Clients are responsible for submitting their own insurance claims. If your plan requires pre-authorization, please ensure this is arranged prior to your first session.

Please note: This practice is not able to liaise with insurance companies on your behalf or guarantee reimbursement. Clients are fully responsible for all fees and any insurance claims.

Virtual Care:

If you engage in virtual therapy sessions, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with online communication, including potential for technical issues, breaches of privacy, and limitations in assessing non-verbal cues. We will discuss these risks and obtain informed consent for virtual care before your first session. We utilize the Jane App for virtual sessions.
